What's New: Updates and Notices
Notice: Please find below a revised version of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Directive for Acute Care Settings concerning precautions and procedures for Ebola virus disease (EVD). This version replaces the Directive #1 that was issued on October 17, 2014. A fact sheet summarizing changes to the Directive has also been attached.
Please note, specific to this Directive, there is reference to an algorithm to support decision-making on the selection of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers conducting screening/triage in emergency departments (ED). The tool will be available shortly on the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Ebola virus disease website at www.ontario.ca/ebola, and when ready, will also be disseminated electronically. In addition, the ministry is working as quickly as possible to consult on and finalize the other priority Directives on Emergency Medical Services, Primary Care and Training and these will be issued as soon as possible.
